Jennifer Anniston, someone who we see constantly plastered across magazine covers or gossip tabloids, took a stand recently against tabloid coverage. Aniston wrote a very opinion piece on Huffington Post explaining her view on tabloids and how she is "fed up" of false headlines and constantly finding her face next to or under hyperbolic headlines talking "divorce", "marriage on the rocks", "relationship trouble" and/or most predominately "pregnant". In June, InTouch magazine proclaimed that Jennifer was expecting a "miracle baby" under the headline "Jennifer Aniston Pregnant With A Miracle Baby at 47" due to photos of her whilst on holiday. Therefore Aniston has spoken out against tabloid fabrication, denouncing a tabloid culture that prevents women who are single or without children as incomplete. She then goes to say on her post that she is fed up with sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of journalism and celebrity news. She ends her opinionated post with "We are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies. That decision is ours and ours alone".

In this podcast I will be joined by guests Emily Barnes, Madison Taylor, Laura McCormack and Katie Jones to discuss females, such as celebrity women, in the media including how females are portrayed in media, the complications, the over exaggerated images/news we see and whether society as a whole are gradually moving away from these stereotypes put on women or will we continue to struggle against what the media portray expectations of women. Additionally we'll talk about Jennifer Aniston's article so have a read before you listen to understand/know about any references) and to what extent to we agree or disagree with her own views and add our own opinions about tabloid coverage, exploring if it'll help that female celebrities speak out more and stand up in order to change perspective and to what extent does tabloids draw the line with their titles.
